Art Foundation - moving on to bigger things-

Physalis Fruit

Got back in touch with sketching, even if i did get carried away spending 3 hours painstakingly drawing all the little textures on the outer shell. I later used in response to my final project brief. I was initially looking into natural forms and how they were structured. I would then take these forms forward to deconstruct to make in different materials.

A Level Part 2 - Interchangeable Pendant Set

My Pendant Set
Art Nouveau Pendant
Silver dish and leaf with a vinyl cut design drawn out on CAD, example of how I enjoy complex designs, with a leaf highlighted with an tiny African amethyst stone.

Bauhaus Pendant
Silver base with silver wire boarder to hold black enamel with a round carnelian cabochon.

Art Deco Pendant
Copper Base dish with silver strips and stone sets. Enameling process and Chinese Amazonite set cabochons.

These are my pieces from A Level. I chose to design a necklace that could have inter-changeable pendants based on 3 design movements: Art Nouveau, Bauhaus, and Art Deco. I came across many challenges and learnt many new skills such as ways of enamelling, acid etching and vinyl cutting to apply the design.

A Level Part 1 - Jewellery Box

...Time for something a bit more complex again :) I decided to design another jewellery box, which developed considerably along the way. It unfortunately had to lose a few of the original features I'd intended such as a fully opening double door front with an earring holder and mirror feature. I then decided to add addition veneer features for aesthetically exciting  purposes after redesigning the form of the box, which, due to the time scale were unable to be added.

Here are the component drawings for the veneer designs which would be have been added. Again they are based around Celtic knot designs. This part of the design process again was enjoyable as I was having to draw complex patterns to create something aesthetically exciting.
